"Battle Battered" 2nd Naval Beach Battalion

The 2nd Naval Beach Battalion played a crucial role during the Normandy landing on June 6, 1944. Tasked with securing the beaches and guiding the troops, they faced perilous conditions. A notable achievement was the installation of markers under heavy fire, ensuring a safer landing for Allied forces and contributing to the success of Operation Overlord.

  • "Battle Battered" 2nd Naval Beach Battalion paint

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as on our other helmets. It is an Olive Drab tint used by the U.S. Army between 1936 and 1944. The insignia of the 2nd Naval Beach Battalion is patinated like the rest of the shell.

  • "Battle Battered" 2nd Naval Beach Battalion texture

The texture of the "cork" is crushed and patinated to give a worn effect to the helmet. This is an appearance found on original US M1 helmets.

  • "Battle Battered" 2nd Naval Beach Battalion chinstrap

Reproduction of the early-war elevated-bar chinstrap, infantry version, patinated. It is artificially worn and soiled to give a used and aged appearance to this 2nd Naval Beach Battalion helmet shell.
