Reproduction of the M1 fixed loops helmet worn by Major Hugh A. Mozley of the 326th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne. This hand-weathered model features realistic wear, accurate markings, and a restored Wachbataillon paratrooper version liner, ideal for collectors and reenactors.

US WW2 infantry helmet shell in steel of Austrian origin produced between 1975 and 1990. Rear rim and fixed loops. The shell has been repainted in OD (Olive Drap) matt, color used by the American army between 1936 and 1944 and equipped with reproductions of helmet infantry chinstraps in khaki canvas OD#3. This shell is painted in the colors of officer Hugh A. Mozley, Battalion Executive Officer of the 326th Engineer Bn of the 101st Airborne Division until June 13, 1944.

Surplus helmet liner in compressed fiber of German origin (Wachbataillon). Fully reassembled with sweatband (headband), brown leather chin strap and neck band. The liner also has the front eyelet typical of American under helmets. Modified in Inland paratrooper version with the addition of "A Yokes" in color OD#3 and its leather chin strap.

"Battle Battered" 326th Engineer Bn Major Hugh A. Mozley
Major Hugh A. Mozley assumed command of the 326th Airborne Engineer Battalion after the death of Lt. Col. John Pappas in June 1944. Leading his unit, he supported the 101st Airborne at Market Garden, then reinforced the defenses of Bastogne in December 1944. Under his command, the engineers deployed mines and obstacles to slow the enemy and secure American positions. Their bravery earned them two Presidential Unit Citations, testifying to the crucial role combat engineers played in the Allied victory.

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as our other helmets. It is an Olive Drab tint used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. The 326th Engineer Bn insignia and the rear CO rank are patinated like the rest of the shell.
